The 15-year-old high school cheerleader was last seen on March 16 at her home in Morgan Hill, Calif. getting ready for school, but she never made it there.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department charged Antolin Garcia-Torres, 21, with one charge of kidnapping and one charge of murder on May 21, reports KTVU-TV.
Garcia-Torres from San Martin, Calif. was taken into custody at a Safeway grocery store in Morgan Hill where he worked Monday evening, according to the report. He is the owner of the red Volkswagen Jetta that authorities seized in connection with the case on May 8. Sources told KTVU there is some DNA evidence linking Garcia-Torres to the clothing found in LaMar’s recovered bag, and he has been under 24-hour surveillance since he was identified.
